Kuala Lumpur: Peguam pejuang hak golongan LGBT, Siti Kasim mendesak agar Jabatan Kemajuan Islam Malaysia (JAKIM) dihapuskan secepat mungkin demi kesejahteraan negara.
Aktivis Perhimpunan BERSIH tersebut menghebahkan keinginannya itu setelah teruja dengan tuduhan Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah di sebuah forum anjuran kumpulan Melayu ulung G25 bahawa kononnya JAKIM sebagai “tidak berperlembagaan”. Beliau berkata, “Oleh sedemikian, mari hapuskan organisasi tersebut secepat mungkin.
Malaysia akan lebih baik sepertimana kita bermula kali pertama dahulu. Dana 1 bilion yang diberikan kepada JAKIM boleh digunakan untuk kesihatan kita, pendidikan dan infrastruktur untuk mensejahterakan negara ini.”
“Bubarkan JAKIM,” desak Siti Kasim lagi.
